In this article, we will launch a working method that we have developed to produce a summary of the article dissertation. The article introduces a concrete peer-to-peer model that includes fourteen peer guidance guidelines. The model is based on our own experience of writing an article paper summary. Although there are good guides to the dissertation in general, as in the case of scientific writing, it is difficult to find more detailed information about the structure of the article section of the dissertation. It may be challenging for the dissertation to know how to make an article dissertation summary.

In this article, we will try to give you some answers. We do not comment on how the summary of the article dissertation “is” to do. We will tell you about our own experience and the working methods we have used, which can be applied by supervisors and students of the dissertation as they wish. We emphasize our cooperation in writing the writing process. The article then introduces concrete weekly steps – 14 peer meetings – based on our own work. These can be used either alone or in a peer group. The text is very concrete and we have also put together tips and homework.

This article is primarily aimed at the authors of the dissertation, but it is also intended as a tool for tutors, heads of doctoral seminars and other persons interested in developing university education.

Importance of peer support

Peer support has been highlighted as an important form of learning. Peer learning can be defined as the development of knowledge and competence between equals, ie it is based on mutual learning and support of students. The advantage of peer support is, for example, that it increases student commitment and motivation and can reduce the stress of studying. You can solve problems together with your peers and get support for sharing your own learning challenges. Although there has been more community-based learning in universities, it is still being used relatively little.

Our peer-to-peer doctoral model is based on peer support between two doctoral theses. Our method is centered on a similar one in the same situation, ie another graduate student. However, peer support can also be used in a small group of similar students or as one of the small group tutors for others.

The university’s competitive and individual-oriented way of working can make community learning challenging, especially if it is not encouraged by the instructors and the university . The peer-to-peer model is based on positive and constructive encouragement. Mutual trust and keeping promises are also important. Common rules, goals and schedules are central to this model.
